Edward M. QuinlanB.S., Rutgers University
Mr. Quinlan is a principal of Engineered Solutions Inc., and one of its senior project engineers. Since co-founding ESI in 1988, Mr. Quinlan has been responsible for engineering design, field surveys and analysis on many diverse projects in hospitals, office buildings, and private industry in the Boston area. Prior to forming ESI, Mr. Quinlan was the New England Regional Technical Director for HEC Inc. (formerly Hospital Efficiency Corp.), a shared-savings contractor specializing in energy conservation projects. As Regional Director, Mr. Quinlan supervised the work of project managers and engineers and provided technical support to the marketing staff. Mr. Quinlan also functioned as a project manager on selected projects, including three college campuses, a private research facility, and three acute-care hospitals. Before HEC, Mr. Quinlan worked for R.G. Vanderweil Engineers, Inc. of Boston. He was project manager and engineer for a variety of large commercial and institutional design projects at locations including the Wellman Research Building at Massachusetts General Hospital, the Guest Quarters Hotel in Boston, and the Integrated Genetics Pilot Plant in Framingham. Mr. Quinlan also served as Engineering Group Leader. Mr. Quinlan received a Master of Science degree from the Building Technologies program at MIT in 1980. While completing his graduate thesis, Mr. Quinlan investigated the use of ice for an off-peak cooling system and evaluated the perfomance of the MIT Solar 5 building for the Department of Energy. Mr. Quinlan is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), and the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA). |
