Engineered Solutions Inc. was formed in 1988 by principals, Rick Dirienzo
and Ed Quinlan. Since its inception, the mission of this Mechanical / Electrical
engineering firm has been to offer high quality, custom engineering and design services with primary focus on facility infrastructure upgrades and energy efficient design.

We have grown slowly from a staff of two (Rick and Ed) in 1988, to a current staff of 12 in 2009, adding an Electrical services group, led by Dave Martell, in 2005. A vast majority of our work has been negotiated services generated from repeat clients and word of mouth references. We have consciously limited our growth in order to ensure that we can deliver high level engineering services led by senior qualified personnel for each project.

We have been involved with a wide range of projects of all sizes and level of complexity despite our limited size.

Our ability to provide wide ranging services has been enhanced by strategic alliances with other design professionals and firms as required to meet the needs of our valued clients.

In this manner, we have been involved in many projects requiring the full range of MEP/FP services, despite our firm’s focus on HVAC/Electrical/Energy Engineering projects.

Prior to forming ESI in 1988, Ed Quinlan and Rick Dirienzo both worked together at HEC Energy Corporation (ESCO firm) and R.G. Vanderweil Engineers, where they developed their engineering and project management skills and began to dream about starting their own firm.
